Stretching from Lake Alexandrina down to Mt. Gambier at the border with Victoria, the Limestone Coast is so named for its bedrock. It includes the wonderful Coorong National Park, a series of lagoons and large inland lakes separated from the sea by Younghusband Peninsula; Mt. Gambier with its volcanic landscape and extensive caves, and the rich Coonawarra which produces some of the world's best red wines.
